Ian is well known in the Bristol area as a former player and manager of Bristol Rovers.
Born and brought up in Cadbury Heath he joined Rovers as an apprentice. After 19 years as a professional
footballer he has gone on to manage several football clubs in the national league.
Ian was asked in 2005 to be our patron because he has 3 daughters who were born deaf,
which has given him an understanding of the problems faced by the deaf and hard of hearing.
He is also a high-profile campaigner on deaf issues and concerns.
